Police identify suspect in Mountain American Credit Union robbery

image002SALT LAKE CITY — Police are asking for the public’s help finding a suspect who allegedly robbed a credit union Wednesday.

Officers said around 5 p.m. a man entered the Mountain America Credit Union at 735 West State Street and demanded money from the teller and then fled in an unknown direction.

Police identified the man Thursday as 45-year-old Michael Alexander Bacon, whose last known address is the shelter area, 210 South Rio Grande, Salt Lake City.

Bacon is described as a white man who stands about 5-feet 11-inches tall and weighs about 180 pounds. He is balding and has blue eyes. He was seen wearing a blue coat and his clothes appeared to be unkempt.
