Students showcase Indian culture in Salt Lake City

Posted

SALT LAKE CITY – There was a “Breeze from the East” at the University of Utah Saturday night as the Indian Student Association hosted an annual event that features Indian culture.

Hundreds of people attended the festivities, which included dance, music and more

Pranav Mathur, vice president of the U of U Indian Student Association, said Indian culture is made up of diverse elements.

“As they say, India has a unity in diversity, so, India is diverse, but at the same time, there is something that connects all of us,” Mathur said. “We have like, more than 50 languages, but the fact remains when you come to the music, everything is the same, you know?”

The performers and students prepared for several months to put on the event. Click here to visit the Indian Student Association’s website.
