GRAND COUNTY, Utah — Officials with the Grand County Sheriff’s Office and the Department of Public Safety are looking for a helicopter that was reported overdue Sunday.
According to a statement from GCSO, the helicopter and its two occupants left the Green River area around 11:15 a.m. Sunday to search for Elk Antler sheds. The helicopter was reported overdue around 8 p.m. Sunday.
A helicopter equipped with “forward looking infra-red” was deployed Sunday night to look for the missing aircraft, but that search was unsuccessful.
Crews resumed the search Monday morning.
The Grand County Sheriff’s Office has been contacting officials from the surrounding counties and contacting airports within those counties to see if the missing helicopter may have landed. So far, those efforts have not been successful.
Anyone with information on the missing helicopter is asked to contact the Grand County Sheriff’s Office at (435) 259-8115.
