MOHAVE COUNTY, Ariz. — A St. George teen died over the weekend after falling while climbing on a rock face in the Cane Beds, according to Mohave County Sheriff’s Office.
Rulon Jessop had gone camping in the area with his uncles and younger brother. On Sunday morning the group was climbing to reach a cave when Jessop slipped and fell about 100 feet, according to the sheriff’s office.
Deputies responded Sunday to the scene and contacted Colorado City Fire Department where personnel declared him dead on the scene.
The victim’s body was recovered and released to the Mohave County Medical Examiner.
