PLEASANT GROVE -- A multi-city blood drive took place Tuesday in honor of fallen Utah County Sheriff’s Deputy Sgt. Cory Wride.

Six Utah County cities held a friendly competition to see which could collect the most units of blood. Horrocks Engineering, located in Pleasant Grove, hosted a corporate drive with the goal of collecting 200 units of blood.

Wride was shot and killed in the line of duty in January.

Horrocks Engineering dedicated the drive to Wride and his family.

Wride’s brother works at Horrocks.
