Man injured after shooting in Ogden

OGDEN, Utah — Police are investigating after a man was shot in Ogden Wednesday morning.

Officers said it happened around 3:40 a.m near the 600 block of 7th Street in Ogden.

Police received calls about shots fired in the area. When they arrived they found a 23-year-old man who had been shot once in the upper torso. They said the victim was uncooperative and refused to say anything other than he had been shot.

A witness said he heard approximately five rounds being fired. Two bullet holes were found in a fence near where the victim was standing when the shots were fired. The only other information obtained is that an unknown suspect walked east on 7th Street ans shot the victim. After firing the shots, the suspect then ran west on 7th Street.

The suspect is described as an adult male wearing a white shirt or jacket. A white passenger vehicle was seen leaving the scene after the shooting.

The victim’s injuries were serious, but non-life threatening. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital and is in critical but stable condition.

The Ogden Metro Gang Unit will further handle the investigation.
