PROVO, Utah — A federal law enforcement agent has joined Provo Police and Fire Departments in their investigation into multiple suspicious fires around Provo.
Special Agent in Charge, Luke Franey, with The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives from the Denver Field Division, announced with Provo Police and Fire a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for setting the multiple blazes.
Between March 11 and April 22 Provo Fire and Rescue and Provo Police responded to several suspicious fires around the city. It is believed the fires are being set intentional by the same individual or individuals, according to a press release from the ATF.
“ATF is committed to solving this investigation, and we are asking the community to come forward with information that leads to the arrest and convinction for these senseless acts,” Franey said.
The fires are being investigated by the ATF Salt Lake City Field Office, Provo Police and Provo Fire Departments.
