Cleaning supplies source of suspicious odor in Cottonwood Heights

COTTONWOOD HEIGHTS –The odor in Cottonwood Heights has been identified as cleaning supplies, according to a tweet from Cottonwood Heights Police.

No carbon monoxide was detected, police tweeted.

At approximately 9:50 a.m. an odor was detected in T.J. Maxx, 6900 South and 1300 East, where four employees reported feeling ill, police said.

The store and surrounding area was evacuated, but no levels of carbon monoxide were detected.

Police say they ventilated the store and it’s up to the business if they want to stay open.
