SALT LAKE CITY -- A woman sustained minor injuries Thursday morning after her car went off the road in Emigration Canyon.

Emergency responders from Unified Police and Unified Fire had a difficult time locating the vehicle because it was about 1,000 feet from the road and it was dark outside.

Officials said the vehicle traveled several hundred feet through trees and brush after it left the road. The woman was able to call police on her cell phone to seek help.

The victim was taken to University Hospital for treatment of her injuries, which were minor.
