CAMP WILLIAMS, Utah – Officials with Utah National Guard said residents in Bluffdale, Riverton, Herriman, Eagle Mountain, Saratoga Springs and Lehi may be hearing the sounds of artillery fire this weekend.
The Utah Guard’s 2-222nd Field Artillery will be training in the area near Camp Williams Saturday, and live fire exercises are planned for the time between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m. Residents in the nearby areas may hear the noises as the exercises unfold.
According to a press release from officials at Camp Williams, crews will be training with M109A6 Paladin howitzers. The artillery exercises are not open to the public.
