Report: Teen texted a farewell to family as tornado that killed him approached

VILONIA, Ar. – An Arkansas mother lost her son in an EF-4 tornado, but she is treasuring the final text messages he sent.

KNWA reports that Regina Wood received several text messages from her son, Jeffrey Hunter, while he sheltered in a bathroom as the tornado approached.

From 20 miles away she received texts that included a heartbreaking, “Goodbye mama…” and “It’s heading right for me.” KNWA reports that Wood said it is comforting to know that her son thought to tell her goodbye amid all of the panic.
