SALT LAKE CITY – A nursing assistant who sexually assaulted a child receiving care at Primary Children’s Hospital was sentenced Wednesday.
David Elijah Jensen, 23, was sentenced to serve two consecutive terms of three years to life in the Utah State Prison.
In October of 2013, the 11-year-old victim said Jensen came into his hospital room, lifted his gown and touched him inappropriately. The victim was recovering from brain surgery.
Officials with the hospital said in October that Jensen began at the hospital as a volunteer in 2011 and was later hired as an employee. Officials also said at that time Jensen had been suspended and subsequently terminated following the report of the abuse.
