NAPLES, Utah – A young girl was airlifted to a hospital after she was struck by a truck after she went out into the street Tuesday night.

Officials said the incident happened in Naples near 1500 South and 500 East when a young girl ran from behind the trash cans on the curb and into the path of a UPS delivery truck.

The driver did not see the child until it was too late, and the child was pinned under the vehicle’s tire for a time. She was extricated and flown to Primary Children’s Hospital. Officials said she suffered a leg and foot injury.
