MAGNA, Utah – Family and friends held a fundraiser to help pay expenses for the family of a man who was shot and killed in Magna last weekend.
Carlos Martinez, 40, was shot and killed Sunday, and police were seeking two male suspects who may have been traveling in a silver or gray Chevy Malibu with tinted windows.
Family and friends were selling Navajo Tacos outside the home to raise funds, and the family has also set up an account under Carlos’ name at Wells Fargo for those who wish to contribute.
Rudy Martinez said he hopes police find those responsible.
“I hope that justice will prevail on those guys that did it, I hope they do it to the max; they took something of mine that I loved,” he said.
The family also held a candlelight vigil Friday night.
