SALT LAKE CITY — Firefighters from the Salt Lake City Fire Department responded to the Jordan River Sunday night after a car was found in the water.

The car, a Lincoln, was found near 253 S 1200 shortly before 10 p.m.

SLCFD spokesman Jasen Asay told FOX 13 there wasn’t anyone in or near the car when it was found.

Officials with the Salt Lake City Police Department have been working to contact the owner of the car and to find out how it ended up in the river.

The car will be removed from the river Monday morning.
