WEST VALLEY CITY -- A paramedic told police he found some of his own stolen property, a trailer, among the wreckage at the scene of a crash he responded to while on duty Friday morning.

The crash occurred around 7 o'clock on 5600 W and the intersection with S.R. 201.

Sgt. Jeff Webb, Salt Lake City Department, said a pickup truck driver caused the crash when he failed to slow his vehicle for a red light.

The pickup truck rolled and was seen lying sideways on top of another vehicle.

"Interestingly enough, one of the responding paramedics gets here and says 'Hey, that's my trailer that was stolen that's hitched to the back of the truck he was driving.'," Webb said. "

The pickup truck driver was also in possession of at least one firearm, drugs and stolen credit cards, Webb said.

The crash blocked the southbound lanes of traffic at 1700 S and one lane of traffic at 2100 S shortly after 7 a.m. The Utah Department of Transportation reported all lanes had opened again a few minutes after 10 a.m.

No serious injuries were reported.
