Toddler rescued from Duchesne River, officials say

DUCHESNE COUNTY, Utah — A 2-year-old child was air-lifed to a Salt Lake City hospital after falling into the Duchesne River, officials said Monday.

At aproximately 9 a.m., the Duchesne County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the Strawberry Pinancles area to a drowning incident where the toddler fell into the river.

Family of the child found the 2-year-old in the river and immediately started CPR, according to a press release from the sheriff’s office.

The child was later transported to Primary Children’s Hospital.
