The National Weather Service has issued a flood advisory for central Salt Lake County until 5 p.m.
Heavy rain has pelted West Valley City and Kearns and is moving across the Salt Lake Valley.
The NWS said the rain could result in urban and small stream flooding.
In just 20 minutes over an inch of rain fell in the area.
Salt Lake City, West Valley City, Murray, Taylorsville, South Salt Lake, Kearns, Oquirrh and Millcreek should be prepared for flooding Tuesday afternoon.
