Motorcycle driver killed after collided with semi in West Valley City, roads closed

WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah – Officials said one man is dead after a motorcycle collided with a semi truck Friday.

Emergency crews were called to 4000 W. and 4700 S.  for the accident at about 11:30 a.m.

West Valley City Police Lt. Dalan Taylor said the semi was driving north on 4000 W. at the time of the incident.

Investigators are still working to figure out where the motorcycle came from and how it collided with the semi.

The motorcycle driver died at the scene.

The semi truck caught fire when the motorcycle’s gas tank ruptured.

The driver of the truck was not seriously injured.

Officials said 4000 W. between 4700 S. and 4500 S. will be closed for the next few hours.

The identities of those involved have not been released at this time.
