The National Weather Service issued a flash flood watch for most of the state earlier Wednesday, but by Wednesday night the flood watch had been lifted for the majority of the state except eastern Utah.
The thunderstorms were expected to bring very heavy rain, strong winds and hail is possible.
Slot canyons, slick rock areas, dry washes, small streams and recently burned areas are at greatest risk for flash flooding.
