OGDEN, Utah – Police are investigating a homicide at a residence in Ogden Friday evening, and two people are dead and a third suffered injury.
Lt. Danielle Croyle of the Ogden City Police Department said police personnel responded to a home in the area of 500 North and Eccles Avenue Friday regarding some sort of domestic violence situation.
The on-duty watch commander with Ogden PD tells FOX 13 News police found a 22-year-old woman outside of that residence who had suffered a minor hand injury. There was no response from inside when officers attempted to make contact with the people inside, and police called for SWAT units to respond to the home. When police entered the residence, a man and woman in their 50s were found inside dead.
The watch commander said all three individuals are related to each other. Neighbors tell FOX 13 News the deceased couple was married but going through a divorce. Police officials confirmed Saturday the deceased individuals were married.
Croyle said shortly after 8 p.m. that police were investigating the case as a homicide. A police official said the case is under investigation and the exact details are unclear, but said it appears to be a murder-suicide.
Residents in that area had been asked to shelter in place as SWAT responded, though that request was rescinded later Friday evening.
FOX 13 News has a crew on the way to the scene, and we will have more information as it becomes available.
