Utah’s favorite cuisine is what? Most disproportionately popular food by state

When you think of American cuisine, hamburgers, pizza and apple pie come to mind.

But each state has its own touch of flavor.

The Huffington Post and Yelp have teamed up to show the most disproportionately popular food in each state.

Coastal states seem to be crazy about seafood, that’s no surprise.

However, Utah ranks Hawaiian food at the top of the list, which appears a bit more unusual.

Yelp said it figured out the rankings by looking at restaurant listings in each state.

Huffington Post took that information and made the map.

Utah’s Most Disproportionately Popular Cuisine:

  1. Hawaiian — 241 percent higher than national average.
  2. Hot dogs — 54 percent higher than national average.
  3. Mexican — 50 percent higher than national average.
  4. Comfort food — 41 percent higher than national average.
  5. Burgers — 38 percent higher than national average.
