Posted

SOUTH SALT LAKE, Utah — An elderly man who was reported missing out of South Salt Lake earlier this week was found dead inside a vehicle in Tooele County Friday.

Gary Keller, South Salt Lake Police Department, confirmed to FOX 13 News that the missing man, previously identified as 78-year-old Darwin Daniel Allred, had been found and is deceased.

Keller said the man was found by an employee at a salt company, and the body was inside of a vehicle. The body was found in an area of Tooele County about 40 miles away from Salt Lake City. Details regarding the cause of death were not immediately available.  Keller said personnel in Tooele County are investigating and said that so far there aren’t any indications of foul play.

Police had listed the man as being missing and endangered, and they stated earlier in the week they were concerned for the man because he suffers from dementia. He was last seen Wednesday. FOX 13 News will have more information as it becomes available.
