SALT LAKE CITY -- Imagine not having to worry about vehicle traffic when riding your bike or strolling down the road: That's exactly what many people experienced Sunday at Salt Lake City's second annual Open Streets Festival.
Eight blocks of 900 South were closed to traffic, and people enjoyed walking and biking freely on the road from 600 East to 200 West.
The festival featured family-friendly activities like slides, face painting, ping pong and more. There were also food trucks on hand for those feeling hungry.
Salt Lake City Mayor Ralph Becker said he believes this event creates an opportunity for residents and businesses to engage in activities that make Salt Lake City the best place to live, work and play.
