PARK CITY, Utah -- Kimball Art Center debuted a new set of exhibits late last month that will be the facility's final exhibits before moving into a temporary space this fall.
The center's Board of Directors decided to sell the current facility in order to make a transition into a new, larger facility with improved parking and accessibility.
The organization has signed a lease for temporary location, at 1401 Kearns Boulevard, where they plan to stay for about three years as a new facility is designed and built.
"Even though we're leaving this iconic space that we've occupied for a long time, we're going to be able to serve our community better and it doesn't matter where we are," said exhibitions manager Christine Baczek. "We're going to be able to do what our community needs us to do a lot better in our new facility."
Baczek added that the upcoming move will not affect this summer's Kimball Arts Festival, scheduled for July 31-August 2.
Meanwhile, KAC's new exhibits, "You Are Here," "NewLand" and "Posterity and Parks" will be open until late August. Visit http://www.kimballartcenter.org for more information.
