Man on motorcycle killed after hitting back of car in Salt Lake City

SALT LAKE CITY - Police are investigating after a motorcycle accident left one dead Thursday  morning.

Officers were called to the accident at 2400 S. and 700 E. before 5 a.m. where a 28-year-old man was killed.

Police said the man was driving too fast for the conditions and hit the back of a car.

Authorities said the man wasn't wearing a helmet and suffered a critical head injury.

He was rushed to the hospital where he later died.

Authorities said the I-80 off ramps on 700 E. were closed for several hours.

Crews also closed northbound 700 E. at 2700 S.

The name of the victim has not been confirmed.
