(CNN) -- A large sinkhole opened at a parking lot of a new IHOP restaurant in Meridian, Mississippi on Sunday, according to CNN affiliate WTOK.

Estimated to be 50 feet wide and 600 feet long, the sinkhole has swallowed approximately 15 cars.

Emergency officials have roped off the area to keep people away, said WTOK. There are no reports of injuries.

IHOP spokesman Craig Hoffman told CNN the company is happy no one got hurt.

"The cause of the sinkhole is still under investigation, and our primary concern continues to be the safety of our guests and team members," Hoffman said, "therefore, the restaurant will remain closed until all necessary repairs have been completed."
