LAS VEGAS — A portion of the Las Vegas Strip was closed in both directions Saturday night after a police officer reportedly fired on an armed suspect who would not comply with police commands, and a juvenile bystander was grazed by a bullet.

FOX 5 in Las Vegas Reports the incident began around 8:10 p.m. MT Friday near the fountains at the Bellagio Hotel and Casino as police responded to reports of a man who was weaving through traffic while waving around and pointing a gun.

Las Vegas Metro Police tell FOX 5 an officer made contact with the armed man, and the suspect did not comply with orders to surrender. The officer then fired on the armed man, but missed and struck a nearby juvenile. That bystander was taken to a hospital and later released, and another bystander was not injured but had a bullet graze their clothing.

There were no reports of further injury, and the man was taken into custody.
