MAGNA, Utah -- A 5-year-old boy killed after being hit by a vehicle in Magna has been identified as Hunter Joseph Weiss.
The accident happened at about 8:15 a.m. near Hunter's grandparent's home near 8700 West and 3400 South, according to Unified police.
According to police, Hunter's parents were dropping him off at the home. The 5-year-old was playing in front of his house when his grandfather asked him to go inside and put on a coat.
Police said the 59-year-old grandfather was driving the vehicle that hit the boy. Paramedics tried to revive Hunter but were unable to do so.
Hunter's Uncle, Adam Prows, says that the family are extremely grateful for the bond they share as a family.
The family have set up a go fund me page to help them with the expenses and loss.
