RIVERTON, Utah - Authorities have identified a suspect in a bank robbery claiming to be armed with a bomb, Monday morning.

A little after 9 a.m., Douglas McEwan, 61, walked into a Wells Fargo in Riverton, and told tellers he was armed with a handgun and bag that contained a bomb, Unified police say.

During the robbery, someone inside called 911 and officers were on scene within minutes. McEwan was tackled in the parking lot and taken into custody.

While at the bank, authorities say, nearby businesses were evacuated after learning about the possible bomb.

The bomb squad was called to the scene. Check back with Fox 13 for the latest updates.
