PROVO, Utah — Provo police have asked for the public’s help in identifying a man who attempted to rob a bank Thursday morning.

According to a news release from Provo PD, the suspect entered Banner Bank, 201 E Center St., at 10:55 a.m. and began yelling that he needed money.

A manager at the bank repeatedly told the suspect to leave, which he did, the news release said.

The suspect was described as a Caucasian man in his twenties, 5 feet 11 inches tall with a thin build. Police said he was wearing a floppy hat, a dark blue bandana over his face, a grey hooded sweatshirt, a white undershirt, blue jeans, and dark gloves. He also carried a black backpack.

Police believe the suspect may be linked to a similar case in Orem.

Anyone with information is urged to call the Provo Police Investigative Division at 801-852-6255.
