CEDAR CITY, Utah — A woman was taken into police custody on Friday after ramming her car through a Cedar City bowling alley.

Officers arrived at the location on N Minersville Highway where they encountered 40-year-old Chantell Strong.

A police report notes that Strong was found still inside her Land Rover yelling at someone on the phone.

"She was saying things like "you don't care about me...how could you leave me?," the police report states.

While investigators do not believe Strong was under the influence at the time, she reportedly commented about taking her own life.

Although Strong's injuries were not considered serious, she was evaluated at an area hospital where she was heard telling staff "she did not mean to hit the building but felt like she had to."

Police obtained surveillance footage before the incident which showed Strong speaking to the driver of another vehicle.

Once the other driver leaves, police say Strong accelerated and hit the bowling alley wall, before going in reverse, and crashing into the building a second time.

The bowling alley was left with over $100,000 in damage.

Strong was charged with reckless driving and criminal mischief.
