Two new COVID-19 deaths in Utah reported and 188 new confirmed cases

SALT LAKE CITY — Two new COVID-19 deaths in Utah were reported Wednesday, bringing the total number of deaths in the state to 75 according to updated numbers from the Utah Department of Health.

There were also 188 new confirmed cases in the state. There have now been 6,620 COVID-19 cases in Utah.

3,309 more Utahns were tested for the disease. That total now stands at 156,786.

18 new hospitalizations were reported since Tuesday. Since the pandemic began, a total of 553 hospitalizations have been required.

State Epidemiologist, Dr. Angela Dunn, will go over the latest statistics and explain what tey mean in a 1:30 p.m. media briefing.
