WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah — The Utah Wellness Bus and the Utah Pacific Islander Health Coalition are teaming up to bring COVID-19 testing to people across the Wasatch Front.
The mobile testing center made a stop in West Valley City Monday.
Leaders say it’s important they address the higher than average per capita covid-19 infection rates among the Pacific Islander community.
Anyone with symptoms or suspicion of COVID-19, regardless of health insurance or a lack of coverage, can go get tested.
"It's a very secure, safe process, there's actually no contact," said Jacob Fitisemanu with the West Valley City Council. "You can talk to the nurse through the phone with your car window up so up until the point of the test there's no human contact involved."
The bus will make a stop Tuesday in South Salt Lake at the Central Park Community Center at 2797 South 200 East.
It will be in Glendale on Thursday and Midvale on Friday.
