SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah Department of Health reported five more deaths and 596 new cases in Friday's COVID-19 report.
This brings the total number of positive tests to 23,866 out of 356,636 total tests (6.7% positive rate).
Twenty-four more people have been hospitalized due to the novel coronavirus, making a total of 1,529 hospitalizations this year with 186 currently hospitalized.
13,408 people are considered "recovered" (Diagnosed more than three weeks ago and survived).
There have now been 181 deaths.
Friday's latest reported deaths are:
- A Summit County man between 65-84 years old, who was hospitalized at time of his death
- A Weber County man between 25-44 years old, residing at a long term care facility
- A Salt Lake County man between 65-84 years old, residing at a long term care facility
- A Salt Lake County woman between 65-84 years old, residing at a long term care facility
- A Washington County woman between 65-84 years old, residing at a long term care facility
