PROVO, Utah — The Utahn diagnosed with the novel coronavirus last week attended a basketball game at Brigham Young University on Feb. 22, the school announced Monday.
The Utah County Health Department contacted BYU, saying that the individual was at the game at the Marriott Center where BYU played against Gonzaga. The Cougars pulled off an upset win and fans stormed the court.

"The individual had mild symptoms on Feb. 22 and the risk of transmission to others at the game is low," a tweet from the school said. "As a precaution, those who were sitting within six feet of the individual are being contacted to let them know of the possible exposure."
The school says health department officials are evaluating those who may have had close contact with the person to determine their potential exposure to the virus. Those who are not contacted by the health department are not considered at risk.
"State and county health officials indicate there is no ongoing risk within the Marriott Center. All high-touch surfaces are regularly disinfected. No closure of the facility is necessary at present," BYU stated.
The state's coronavirus task force put a page on their website with advice for fellow attendees who may be concerned.
