PROVO, Utah — The Utah County Health Department has issued an advisory warning that the water around the Lincoln Marina at Utah Lake is dangerous because of toxic algae.
The "danger advisory" was posted on Thursday night on the Utah Department of Environmental Quality's website monitoring Harmful Algal Blooms. The marina remains open for boat traffic to access Utah Lake but water recreation within the marina should be avoided, the agency said.
HABs, which are caused by a mixture of pollutants and hot temperatures, have been observed in American Fork Marina, Lindon Marina, Lincoln Marina, and the open water.
