SALT LAKE CITY — Pet owners who need help feeding their furry friends can pick up free pet food Tuesday thanks to a Pop Up Pet Pantry.

Nuzzles & Co. Pet Rescue and Adoption will be handing out the food between 4-7 p.m. in the parking lot of the Smith's in Rose Park located at 1174 W 600 North. Pet owners should look for the Nuzzles & Co. van in the lot.

“Unfortunately, we’re still seeing daily spikes in COVID-19 cases, and many in Utah still need help feeding their pets.” said Lindsay Ortega, Executive Director for Nuzzles & Co. “We hear stories from grateful pet owners who have lost their jobs and their pets are the only family they have – they need help, because they are having trouble making ends meet themselves."

Free pet food will be given out Tuesday and Sept. 29 at the Rose Park location, while those in Magna can look for a Pop Up Pet Pantry at the Smith's at 8055 W. 3500 South on Sept. 22 and Oct. 6.

The food is being provided with help from the Jason Heigl Foundation.
