SUMMIT COUNTY — I-80 westbound was closed at milepost 137 just after 11:30 AM after a tanker carrying butane blocked all three westbound lanes.
A semi carrying hauling double tanks, and the second tank somehow became detached and rolled. The driver pulled over to the shoulder, and the second take came to halt blocking all three westbound lanes.
Utah Highway Patrol says the tank contains butane. The tank has not been compromised, and there are no leaks, but troopers are still taking precautions.
Traffic is being diverted off the Jeremy Ranch exit. Westbound lanes are expected to remain closed until approximatley 4:00 PM.
