Police have released the names of a father and his two sons who died in an apparent murder-suicide in South Jordan on Tuesday.

The South Jordan Police Department has released that autopsy reports indicate Seth Osborn, 8, and Ezra Osborn, 10, both died of gunshot wounds which were inflicted by their father, Brian Osborn, 41, who was also found dead with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

On Tuesday, June 2, 2020 officers responded to a home near Indigo Sky Way and Pentenwell Lane, near Daybreak shortly after 4 p.m of reports of an 8-year-old who had been found by his mother with a gunshot wound. The child identified as Seth Osborn, was rushed to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries.

Officers began to search the home and discovered 10-year-old Ezra and his father, Brian, both deceased with gunshot wounds.

An investigation uncovered that the father was watching his two children at their mother’s house while she was at work. Brian Osborn had not lived at the home for several months before the incident.

South Jordan police have previously dealt with the family on non-criminal domestic issues but had not been in contact with them since November 2019.
