SALT LAKE CITY — The porn website XHamster is trolling the Utah State Legislature over a bill introduced that would require a warning label on adult content.

Visitors to the site from Utah received the "warning" as a protest of House Bill 243, sponsored by Rep. Brady Brammer, R-Highland. XHamster Vice President Alex Hawkins said in an email to FOX 13 it was part of a campaign against the bill.

"This isn't the first time that we've had to deal with ignorance and fear-mongering in the Utah government around sex. We know just how many visitors, conservative and liberal, visit our site from Utah — this seemed like the ideal way to let them know just what the government is trying to censor," he said.

FOX 13 first reported on Rep. Brammer's bill on Monday. It requires porn publishers to display a warning about the harms of adult content on youth. It's modeled after California's toxic product warning labels.

The Free Speech Coalition, a group that represents the adult entertainment industry, has already threatened litigation if the bill were to pass the Utah State Legislature.
