SWEETWATER COUNTY, Wyo. — The Sweetwater County (Wyo.) Sheriff's Office honored one of their own Friday in an emotional End of Watch ceremony for a K9 deputy.

As his fellow officers saluted, K9 deputy Taz, a 13-year-old yellow Labrador retriever, walked down the line before he was put down.

Officials say Taz served Sweetwater County from 2012 until medical issues forced his retirement in 2015. After retiring, Taz spent his final years with his former partner, Sgt. Brandy Dick.

"Thank you for your service, Taz," the department wrote on a tribute video. "Rest easy, friend."

"We'll take watch from here."
