VEYO, Utah — A Veyo family of seven lost their home and everything inside when a wildfire ripped through southern Utah Monday night.

"Everything is gone and now we have to accept that it is what it is,” said Anthony Barlow.

The Barlow family rented a 15-acre property on the west side of Veyo, roughly 20 miles north of St. George.

“It completely consumed the house, the property. Our whole lives [are] basically gone,” said Anthony.

“Had we been here and tried to save something, it could have been disastrous. We could have lost a lot more than just a house,” said his wife Lori, while consoling their teenage daughter.

While the family was away, the fire quickly surrounded the home. It pushed through the dry grass by strong winds.

“We have our family. We have each other now and that’s what matters,” said Lori.

The family has an offer to stay in another home rent-free for a month while they get their feet under them.

A GoFundMe has been set up to help the family. To donate, click here.
