Three dead in plane crash in Davis County

DAVIS COUNTY, Utah — Three people were killed Sunday evening when a small plane crashed, according to the Davis County sheriff's office.

The crash happened between 6:30 and 7:30 p.m. The plane was a Cessna type aircraft.

The Salt Lake Tribune reported, the single-engine Cessna went down in the mountains east of Bountiful, according to the Davis County Sheriff’s Office.

The plane took off from Skypark Airport in Woods Cross at 6:42 p.m., according to flight logs, and crashed a short time later.

The wreckage was located by a Department of Public Safety helicopter at about 11 p.m.

All three people on board the plane — the pilot and two passengers — died in the crash.

The names of the victims have not been released. The crash is under investigation.
