Just before 3 p.m., an estimated 26 Union Pacific train cars derailed about four miles east of Rock Springs. Photos and videos of the scene appeared to show multiple rail cars fallen over onto their side. Some then caught fire.

According to Union Pacific, about 10 were damaged.
