According to UPD spokeswoman Melody Gray, the male victim ran to the Winco grocery store and sought help. Grocery store employees applied a tourniquet to stop the bleeding and called emergency services.

"Great on their part to think of that and to take that immediate quick action and apply that medical care was awesome work on their part," Gray said.

Witnesses told police a man in dark-colored clothing and a woman in a floral shirt and jeans were seen leaving the area.

Police are now looking for a white 2005 Cadillac CTS in connection with the shooting.
