CEDAR CITY, Utah — Police have released the names of two people found dead inside a Cedar City home on Wednesday.

According to the Cedar City Police Department, someone called 9-1-1 to report what appeared to be a deceased person in a home near 1800 W. Harding Ave. shortly after 4:30 p.m.

When officers arrived, they found two bodies. Police secured the scene and began a homicide investigation.

On Friday, CCPD announced that the deceased individuals were Lucas Hughes and Ethan Rapoza, both 18-year-old males. The cause of their deaths was determined to be stabbing.

Police said the investigation is still active and ongoing, but they do not believe there are any outstanding suspects nor any threats to public safety. They did not elaborate any further.

"The Cedar City Police Department would like to extend its condolences to the families of Lucas and Ethan," Sgt. Clint Pollock wrote.
