STANSBURY PARK, Utah — A wildfire that broke out in Tooele County east of Stansbury Park on Wednesday has burned 8 acres. North Tooele Fire District officials say the quick response of their partners aided in stopping the forward progress of the fire.
No structures are threatened, though officials note that communication towers are located on the ridge above the Bates Fire.
As of 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, crews are working to extinguish hotspots in the burned area and build containment to prevent further spread, should the fire re-ignite.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
