Fidelity, UPS among companies now hiring in Utah

SALT LAKE CITY — Job search hitting a dead end? Here are some businesses hiring right now:

Whether you’re looking for seasonal or permanent work, or you’re venturing into a new career, job seekers have options.

Fidelity Investments is looking for 325 workers over the next months to help their new customers reach financial goals. They offer training if you don’t have experience in financial services.

“Fidelity is a very customer obsessed organization so we are looking for people who are really passionate about helping people who are great at building relationships with customers who are eager to learn about our business,” said Mark Barlow, Sr. VP of Fidelity Investments.

UPS is anticipating a busy holiday season. As part of their Brown Friday Hiring Blitz, they’re looking to hire 50,000 seasonal workers in a single day on Friday, October 30th.

They have a variety of positions available from package handlers to delivery drivers. Starting pay range is anywhere from $14.50 an hour to $30.00 an hour.

Amazon is also looking for help during the holidays. They need 1500 seasonal workers at their new facility at 808 North 6550 West in Salt Lake City. Amazon offers jobs for people of all backgrounds and skill levels, with pay incentives, benefits, and a path to a longer-term career.

You’ll find hundreds of jobs across the state at The Utah Department of Workforce Services virtual job fair. There will be 100 employers with positions in health care, transportation, banking, customer service, education and many more.

Job seekers can participate from their own computer or smartphone. After logging in, participants will be able to see a digital floor plan with rows of booths, each representing an employer. After clicking on an employer booth, the job seeker can see the company profile, job openings and social media. They can also start a live chat with a hiring representative and share their resume. Employers can schedule interviews or even make job offers on the spot.

The statewide virtual job fair is Thursday, Oct. 29., 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. To participate, job seekers should pre-register here.
