Keep an eye out for former BYU golfer Patrick Fishburn this week at the Utah Championship. The former Utah State Amateur and Utah Open champion is ready go when they tee off this Thursday at Oakridge Country Club.

"I'm definitely excited to be back in town," said Fishburn. "It kind of stinks that I can't have my friends and family out there watching, but it's going to be fun playing in my home state and playing a track that I've played a few times."

Patrick is having a solid rookie season on the Korn Ferry Tour. The Ogden native is 44th on the points list. He says he's playing well, after shooting an amazing round at Ogden Country Club.

"I played a really good round at my home track at Ogden and shot a 59, so hopefully that's a sign of things to come this week."

Patrick is a contender to win this week. He's eight in this week Korn Ferry Tour power rankings, and he's fourth in driving distance.

"I'm going to just try to rip the driver and hope that it stays between the trees. The biggest thing for me is if I can putt well and hit good wedges. If I can do that I should have a decent chance."
